“After
many years of work as hotel manager and
some extensive travelling, in 2005 I was
looking for a life change that would allow
me to develop my creative side while helping
others. The idea
of doing something related
to hand woven textiles was a natural choice
because I am from Tucumán, in NW
Argentina, and in those long summers and
cold winters by the mountains in Tafí
del Valle, hand made rugs and blankets,
“peleros” and “pullos”
were part of our daily lives. At Elementos
Argentinos we offer products that combine
ancient craftsman weaving techniques, of
great artistic value, with contemporary
designs as a way of mixing part of our past
with the present”.

“I studied Design and worked in television, advertising and journalism for more than 10 years.
I have visited the northern
provinces of Argentina regularly and their
colors and textures have never ceased to
surprise me. The cultural diversity and
especially the people were the inspiration
for the development of this project. It
combines my passion for design, with the
idea of a business of sustainable work that
would cooperate with the family-based economies
of the weavers and craftsmen that are part
of Elementos Argentinos”. |
